Hayat Kimya A.S.'s Metsotissue machine, serviced by Mobil SHC^TM 632 gear and bearings oil, set the new world speed record at 2,210 m/min during a 24-hour production run at the company's mill in Turkey. Mobil SHC 632 is part of Mobil SHC 600 Series of advanced technology synthetic lubricants designed to deliver premium performance for the challenging and diverse operating environments in pulp and paper processing.

Formulated to cope with extreme operating conditions including high speeds and steam temperatures exceeding 200°C (392°F), Mobil SHC 632 delivers outstanding service for the pulp and paper industry. Compared to a standard mineral oil, it provides reliable equipment protection and extended oil life, thereby minimising downtime and operating expenses to ultimately help increase productivity.

The record-setting tissue machine has been operating at full capacity since December 2010 without maintenance, downtime or oil change. Thanks to the low fluid friction characteristics of Mobil SHC 632 that produces lower operating temperatures and improved gear efficiency, the oil film didn't break down and there was no equipment overheating at any point during the record-breaking run at the Yeniköy mill.

After seven years in operation using a range of Mobil-branded products, none of the Hayat Kimya A.S.'s Metsoor PMT Italia tissue machines have required a single bearing change. The use of Mobilgrease^TM XHP 222 on the roll bearings helped prevent premature component failure. Despite the repeated water contamination of the oil flow, the machines serviced with Mobil SHC^TM PM 320 required neither additional maintenance nor oil change. Designed to protect bearings from corrosion and wear even in harsh (wet-end) process water environments, Mobil SHC PM 320's saved Hayat Kimya's engineers up to three days of unscheduled downtime.
