Fleet of 120 Mercedes-Benz Actros Euro 5 trucks

 

Situation and objectives:

The customer M&B Trans is located in Slankamen, Vojvodina province of Serbia. The customer is one of the market leaders in international transport and logistics with a fleet of 120 trucks and own service. The customer is using Mobil lubricants, Mobil Delvac XHP LE 10w40 for engine oil. Due to high fuel prices and annual  mileage, the customer is looking for areas where financial savings can be made.

 

Recommendations and Solutions:

In order to help our client achieve certain financial savings, with expert help from our OLE we recommended them to switch to premium fully synthetic engine oil , Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5w30. We were expecting to make a rough 2% fuel savil'lg, because differential and transmission oils were already synthetic products. A further saving could be made on extending the ODI, but this would be determined after a number of SIGNUM oil analysis were performed to check oil performance during the testing period. The saving on fuel alone was calculated to be cca 770 EUR per truck.

 

Results and Benefits

As a result of switching from Mobil Delvac XHP LE 1 Ow40 to Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5w30 the customer enjoyed a huge saving of over 1.500 EUR per truck (1.270eur for fuel). The saving came  from a 2,74% fuel saving (average saving on 5 trucks) and an extended ODI from 80.000km to 90.000km. The costs associated with ODI were also cut,including downtime, filters, parts, labor etc.

The calculated fleet saving is over 178.000 EUR (152.000eur on fuel) annually.
